    • U.S. Department of transportation data ranks Mitchell as one of the most affordable airports in the U.S. with average fares significantly less than the nation’s average.

  • Airport-Downtown Transportation:
    • All major car rental companies
    • Taxi service outside of Baggage Claim #3
    • Go-Riteway: shuttle service (shared ride) from baggage area to downtown hotels/businesses/residences; advance online orders recommended

  • Amtrak—Just 90 Minutes from Chicago; Milwaukee Intermodal Station
    • Convenient, multiple round trips daily between Milwaukee Intermodal Station and Chicago’s Union Station
    • General Mitchell International is one of the few U.S. airports to include an Amtrak station. A free shuttle bus connects rail passengers to the airport.

  • Bus
    • Greyhound (operating throughout the US) and Wisconsin Coach Lines (service to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport) served by Milwaukee Intermodal Station
    • Megabus (operating throughout the US) stops at N. 4th St.
    • Badger Bus terminal: 635 N. James Lovell St., daily service to Madison

  • Ferry
    • The Lake Express Ferry is a state-of-the-art vessel linking Milwaukee with Muskegon, Mich. The two-hour trip offers passengers a faster and more direct route than driving south around Lake Michigan through the Chicago area.

  • Bike
    • Home to 130 miles of bike trails, Milwaukee is now home to a new bikeshare program, Bublr Bikes. With 10 stations, and growing, it provides an easy mode of transportation for locals and visitors around the city.
